On this page, you will find all the necessary information related to our crown molding system.

Corner Blocks

Our hand-painted corner blocks are decorative pieces that can be installed in your room’s corners, making the installation easier and considerably improving the look and finish of the room.

Corner Blocks Mounting Options

There are three options for installing these corner blocks along with the crown moldings.

With this option, you have the corner block more exposed, adding more importance to your corners and corner blocks themselves.

With this option, you have less corner block exposure, but still, your corners and corner blocks will be quite visible.

With this option, you will reduce the corner block exposure to the minimum, as the crown molding bottom border touches the bottom installation line of the corner block, although your corner blocks will keep looking great and accomplishing their decorative function.

Corner Blocks Custom Finishes

Despite having several pre-made finishes and constantly creating more to match all our crown moldings, we can create a custom-made one for you; just contact us with your requirements.

How To Create An Outside Corner And Center Blocks

For painted corner blocks, it is recommended to use black caulking for joints and seams, then touch up with the same paint.

Crown Molding Projection Larger Than Corner Block Mounting Area

If your chosen crown molding’s projection is larger than the corner block mounting area, no problem; we have a quick and easy solution for it. Installing crown moldings larger than corner blocks is no longer a limitation; see the image below.

To do it, follow the steps below:

  1. Place the crown molding in position against the corner block (you will see that part of the crown molding extends out of the corner block).
  2. Cut the excess section at a 45-degree angle.
  3. Do the same with the other piece of molding (the other side of the corner block).
  4. First, install your corner block.
  5. Install one piece of molding, then the other one (both angles cut should match).
Same with outside and center blocks

In our current decorative millwork market, corner blocks designs and sizes is quite limited, actually they are not suitable for all crown molding sizes.

Crown Molding Corners

We all understand how difficult it is to cut angles in these decorative crown moldings, which are way different than conventional moldings, unless you are a professional installer. We offer the option of purchasing pre-cut corners of the same molding style and finish, which make the installation process easier. Inside and outside corners are available (these are not corner blocks).

You can purchase these pre-cut corners on the product page as an option or on the corners page.

Installation Instructions

Our pre-cut corners are shipped in two separate pieces, which allows you to correct any ceiling or wall imperfection by slightly moving these two pieces together.

1- Take the two pieces of the molding corner and put them together in your ceiling corner, trying to achieve the best position according to the angle. Make sure the flat mounting sections of the molding, the top and bottom ones, are laid down right on both the ceiling and the wall.

2- Hold one of the pieces very tight with one hand, take the other one off, grab the nailer with the other hand, and nail the held piece. Nail the top and bottom of the corner piece.

3- Reposition the other piece of corner and nail it together according to the original position.

4- Take your piece of crown molding and put it against the ceiling, following the sequence of your installed corner, and nail it, top and bottom.

5- Smoothly apply caulking in the ties and let it dry (black caulking if your molding base is black and white if your molding base is white).

6- Use touch-up paint (sold separately) to paint on your seams and hide them as much as you can. Try to imitate the finish as much as you can as well.

DISCLAIMER: Our corners are perfectly cut at the right angle, but sometimes ceilings and walls are not straight, which brings about some issues during the installation process. In this type of situation, we are not responsible for the final installation result.

Crown Molding Couplings

Crown molding couplings are decorative pieces that can be inserted between two pieces of crown molding, generally in the center of the wall, adding an extra beautiful touch to the room. Unfortunately, the collection of couplings coming from the factory or providers is very limited and not suitable for all crown moldings because of their size and shape. See below the specifications of all our available crown molding couplings.
